The governments of UAE & Oman announced that a 5% value added tax (VAT) will be implemented at the beginning of 2018, in a move to diversify revenues amid plunging oil prices. Levying VAT is the outcome of joint efforts between all GCC states.It is expected that 5% VAT will apply on all rates and services in the tourism sector.
